Fact of the Month: The 1972 tour

Sigmund Groven has frequently toured Norway and the rest of the world. In 1972 he toured with Ketil Bjørnstad, Lars Hauge and John Arne Hirding across Norway in a series of concerts organized by Rikskonsertene (Concerts Norway, the government’s promotor of folk and jazz music). The tour schedule was 15 days – and in that time, Sigmund and his collaborators performed 64 concerts! That’s more than four concerts every day! Is it perhaps a world record?
